Challenge
Create atmospheric cover designs for two fictional novels while developing a cohesive visual language suitable for modern literary fiction and speculative storytelling. The project required not only front cover design, but also full mockup presentation including spine, back cover composition, typography, and publishing identity elements.
Concept
Both covers were designed around the idea of emotional atmosphere and symbolic visual storytelling rather than direct narrative illustration. Minimal compositions, deep dark tones, and glowing accent elements create a cinematic mood while leaving space for imagination. Floating balloons, distant architecture, fog, and light were used as metaphors for memory, displacement, longing, and hope.
Result
The final project includes two complete fictional book cover concepts with full wraparound layouts, spine design, back cover typography, and hardcover mockup presentation. Although the books and author are fictional, the project explores emotionally grounded storytelling through visual identity and editorial design.
